THRIFTY THURSDAYS! Thursday, 10/11/07

Today I was broke...payday is tomorrow. I borrowed money from a friend and I hate doing that but I also hate being broke. I know borrowing is a huuuuge frugal no-no so shame on me! But, in my defense, I'm just starting out with this frugality thing and admitting you're powerless is the first step. I did learn something today, although it has nothing to do with money--unless you go by the adage that the best things in life are free. One of my cats, Nami, I've had for 4 and a half years (She's 5 and a half). I don't know if it's just my cats but they love getting rubbies on their butts, right where the tail starts. They go down on all fours and lift their furry hinies up in the air. Well, today, Nami was hyper--like she gets right before she goes psycho--and I was giving her one of these rubbies. She started pawing at the carpet, which she knows better than to do, so I gave her a little swat on her butt. Lord have mercy! My daughter is a perv! I could swear the little booger was grinning! So I did it again, just to make sure. Yup, she loved the spankings. And before y'all get animal-rights on me, let me assure you that I would be the first to beat down someone who was beating their pet. I abhor animal abuse. The swats I give my cats are really just taps. Trust me, when Nami goes psycho every night, she hits ME a lot harder. Nami is the first cat in my title banner, the calico. Here's a shot:

I have two other gorgeous girls. There's Amma, the cat on the right end of my title banner. She's a beautiful orange tabby with orange-y/gold eyes. She doesn't always photograph well but she's beautiful and has the sweetest disposition of any cat I've ever known. Here is a shot of my Golden Child:
Voodoo Viola is my 3rd girlie. She's not really mine; I don't know where she comes from. She lives outside (My two don't get along and it would be WWW3 if I took Voo in) but she's a sweetie. The whole block loves her but she seems to seek me out. I've already decided that when and if we move in the future, I'll find some way to take her with us. She's a sweet gray tabby:
Those furballs, along with my future Mr. make up my small, immediate family. (I have two sisters, my mom, and countless aunts/uncles/cousins also...just not in my apartment...)

I had one more thing for yesterday's WEDDING WEDNESDAY but I forgot to add it so here it is:
I am addicted to "Bridezillas". The evil brides make me cringe but sometimes the show is educational. In fact, one girl's favor idea is one I plan to steal.
I don't remember the bride's name but she had a Blue Tiffany's-theme wedding and her favors were little blue Tiffany's store-inspired gift boxes with Hershey's kisses and a tag that said:
Kisses from the Mr. & Mrs.
How adorable is that? I'm going to steal this idea because it's cute and cheap, therefore, a worthy addition to THRIFTY THURSDAY. Except, my boxes will be whatever color we decide to go with and, because everyone that knows us knows that the two things we cherish are the cats and riding the Mr.'s motorcycle, I'll get ribbons printed up: half with pawprints, half with little motorcycles, intertwine them somehow. And instead of just Kisses, I'll get Hershey's Hugs too. Then I'll make the tag say:
Hugs & Kisses from the Mr. & Mrs.
Awesome, right?!
